International Symposium on Wood Science and Technologies
50th Anniversary of The Japan Wood Research Society

Environmentally Symbiotic Society on Wood Resources

Invitation from the Conference Chairman
On the behalf of Organizing Committee, International Association of Wood Products Societies, and The Japan Wood Research Society, I would like to express my warm welcome to the International Symposium on Wood Science and Technologies in Yokohama from November 27 to 30, 2005 as 50th Anniversary of The Japan Wood Research Society. This symposium is co-organized by International Association of Wood Products Societies (IAWPS) and named as IAWPS2005.
IAWPS is the international organization founded in 1995 for the contribution of relevant societies to the better understanding and to the better utilization of wood resources in harmony with global and local environment. I believe it is extremely important for us to exchange the information and to share the difficulties.
IAWPS2005 will cover whole areas of wood science and technologies, and papers will be presented at nine sessions. I hope every session will be very exciting with full of participants from all over the world.
Yokohama is a port-city with international atmosphere, and you can easily visit many historical places including Kamakura which is an ancient capital of Japan. Of course, the symposium will arrange daily tours and post-symposium tours for accompanying persons and symposium participants.
I am sure that you will be able to find a very enjoyable time in Yokohama.

I hope to see you in Yokohama, Japan

Sincerely,

Gyosuke Meshitsuka
Conference Chairman
